Our Work
Conservation Efforts and Easements
Positive Change
The Conservation of Plott Creek Headwaters works closely with willing landowners to establish conservation easements. These conservation efforts ensure that the land is protected from development and other activities that could harm the unique ecosystem of the Plott Creek Headwaters. By partnering with us, landowners can preserve the natural beauty and ecological value of their property for future generations while potentially receiving tax benefits.
Ecosystem Protection and Restoration
Empowering Change
Our organization is dedicated to protecting and restoring the high-elevation spruce/fir forest and its associated rare and threatened plant and wildlife species. We work to identify and mitigate threats to this fragile ecosystem, such as invasive species, climate change, and habitat fragmentation. Through carefully planned conservation efforts, we aim to maintain the ecological integrity of the Plott Creek headwaters and ensure the survival of the unique flora and fauna that depend on it.
Outreach
Empowering Communities
The Conservation of Plott Creek Headwaters believes that education is key to fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world and the importance of conservation. Our aim is to raise awareness about the ecological significance of the Plott Creek valley headwaters and inspire individuals to take action in protecting this valuable resource. By engaging with the public, we hope to build a strong network of support for our conservation efforts.
